Kyoto Nishijin BASE is a multi-purpose space that has been renovated from a historic townhouse and can accommodate a variety of uses, including accommodation, workspace, events, exhibitions, and corporate use.
It is operated as an "editable space" that creates new value while utilizing the local culture and context.

My group of 4 loved staying at Hiroki's place! It was awesome having so much space to spread out and it was great to come back to a relaxing and creative space after exploring all day. We would throw on some jazz and flip through all of the cool books while we sat at the table and talked about our day.
The multiple bathrooms and two showers were amazing. We appreciated the conbinis close to the house and the proximity of the main road for hailing a taxi if we needed one.
I highly recommend this airbnb if you're looking for something quiet, unique, and off the beaten path!
As far as the accommodation went, this house is one of the most unique choices we've ever experienced. What a delight! It really was like living in an art gallery. The house had plenty of space & every amenity we needed. The location was fab - a residential area close to quirky cafes, patisserie, restaurants & bars. Highly recommend!
I stayed in Hiroki's place for one week with my husband and our 2 year old daughter. While I would not describe the house as "family-friendly" in the traditional sense, my family and I had a fabulous time here. The space has lots of character. As coffee and jazz lovers, we appreciated Hiroki's unique taste. What we loved most of all, however, was the neighborhood. I did zero research on the area prior to booking Hiroki's place, but I feel like we lucked out. There are delicious low-key restaurants and cafes in spitting distance, not to mention a charming onsen and beautiful park.
This place is great- lots of space, nice coffee equipment if you are into that kind of thing, interesting books, etc.
The area is quiet and having been to Kyoto a few times before nicer and more interesting than the more central areas tourists would commonly stay in.
It's easy to get to the central places if you need to.
Would definitely recommend staying here!
Hiroki's place is surely the finest airbnb in Kyoto/Japan/The World. Supremely comfortable, filled with exquisite art, craft, and beautifully designed objects, it's simply perfect. A short walk takes you to public transport to go wherever you choose.
Hiroki responded instantly to our communications and was extremely helpful and supportive when one of our party was unwell. Would give it more than 5 stars if possible.
Probably the best AirBnB I ever stayed at. 100% recommendation! It is very very spacious (we were 4 friends), it has heating via airconditioning (it gets cold outside in November), coffee lovers have a range of options to prepare it, it is like a gallery and hence very nice furnished and decorated. Note that you basically sleep all together upstairs in one big room - the appartment is kind of a loft. The way to the next metro station takes 15-20 min by foot but busses are closer and the neigbourhood is very friendly and calm with restaurants, cafés and the famous golden pavillon only 30 min walking away. Communication was easy and quick. Perfect Airbnb, I'd say :)
